It's Not Too Late: Get Nutritious Now! - By Gail Kasper

Gail Kasper, Author, Television Host, Certified Fitness Trainer, and Motivational Speaker

In my book Unstoppable: 6 Easy Steps To Achieve Your Goals, I introduce my readers to Mariella, a woman who gave up on life following a painful breakup with her boyfriend. After his departure, she stopped taking care of herself. Her personal grooming suffered, she went from wearing nice outfits to throwing on baggy sweatshirts and sweatpants, she took up smoking, and the only thing she lived for was food – not healthy, nutritious fare, but junk food. She could eat a whole bag of cookies in one sitting. It’s no wonder she ended up gaining thirty pounds in less than a year.

Thankfully, Mariella did not remain in that sad state. It took tremendous effort, resolve, willpower, and self-control, and she needed outside intervention and help, but by putting a plan into motion and following through with that plan, Mariella changed her life. She began to exercise. She threw out her junk food and filled her kitchen with nutritious food. She quit smoking and brought about other important lifestyle changes. Through all of this, Mariella turned her life around, improving her condition and restoring her health. It wasn’t easy, but she did it.

Many people who have fallen into hard times and picked up bad eating habits mistakenly think, “It’s too late now. I’ve ruined myself. I’ll never be healthy again.”

Nonsense! It’s not too late. You can enjoy better health by getting nutritious today. Don’t wait until next month or even next week. Begin now. Like Mariella did, throw out everything in your kitchen that’s unhealthy and replace it with healthful choices. Don’t eat a bag of cookies – eat a banana or an apple instead. You can find plenty of ideas for delicious, healthy food in one of my favorite nutrition books, The Everything Guide To Managing And Reversing Pre-Diabetes, by Gretchen Scalpi. For more menu-planning ideas, contact me and I’ll help you get nutritious NOW!
